Change is Afoot
Not an actual foot obviously, but it could be time to make a change.
Frequently recently we’ve had the urge to get out and see the world even more than usual. We’ve had some things change in our lives that have prompted this desire and we’re at the point where we’re so close to following through for an extended period away that we can virtually taste it.
So here’s our question to you.
How do you decide to where to go when you travel?
Are you the type of person who’ll quite happily stick a pin in a map and shout “Eureka!”, or are you more the package holiday type? We’re very much the pin in a map type.
We’ve not been on a package holiday in so long that we’re not completely sure we physically could. Package holidays obviously suit some people, those who have no desire to decide their own plans maybe. Or more likely it’s because they just want to pitch up at the airport and not really have to think about anything else until they arrive at the airport to head home after a week or two.
We’d much rather pick a country, then an area, do a recon of it (probably on Google Maps in the first instance - other mapping websites are available) then, if it’s a flyaway destination, look for AirBnB option in the area, followed by smaller hotels. It’s doubtful that we’d choose to stay in a large chain hotel for more than a couple of days as a lay over.
Once the destination is locked down the planning begins however while Jess is more at home with things being a little more ad-hoc. Dan prefers elements to be a little more set in stone. It’s what keeps us on our toes while we’re away. But, overall, so long as you’re prepared for things to change at the drop of a hat then you’ll be just fine no matter where you are. Make sure you always have a bit of cash and a working phone and you should be fine one way or another.
So, where will your next trip be to?
